Walk of Appreciation Paving Stones

Another Way to say THANK YOU.

The Mologne House Courtyard Program is part of a greater effort by the Yellow Ribbon Fund to assist in the transition of our wounded warriors, from the battlefield back to their service or, more often, back to their local communities. We decided to give everyone an opportunity to say “thank you” and to assist these wonderful volunteers in this transition.

A Paving Stone on the Walk of Appreciation can be the keystone in a life-long relationship between the community and the wounded warrior and his or her family. It also represents a significant contribution to our wounded warriors and their families through the Yellow Ribbon Fund. Paving Stones thank and honor all injured servicemen and women. Individuals, families, schools, classes, companies, civic organizations such as Rotary Clubs and Kiwanis Clubs, American Legion and VFW Posts, other clubs or informal groups may express their community’s appreciation for a wounded warrior and their support for all injured servicemen and women through the Mologne House Courtyard Program.

Engraved Paving Stones will be placed on the Walk of Appreciation and throughout the Mologne House Courtyard. All Paving Stones will thank and honor all the military volunteers who have been injured or wounded, particularly those who have gone through Walter Reed, as follows:

1. identify the donor,
2. express thanks, and
3. identify a specific or general object of thanks.

4″ x 8″ and 8″ x 8″ Stones
On a 4″ x 8″ Paving Stone, the top line identifies the donor, the middle line expresses thanks, and the bottom line identifies way of thanking all who serve by identifying a specific object of that appreciation: a service branch, a unit, or an individual soldier, sailor, Marine, airman or coastguardsman, especially one who has gone through Walter Reed or Bethesda Naval Hospital. We offer this Paving Stone to all who make a minimum gift of $400 to our troops.
Alternatively, the donor may simply choose to express appreciation to “Our Brave Warriors.” The 8″ x 8″ Paving Stone has another line to work with. We offer this Paving Stone to all who make minimum gift of $800 to our wounded warriors.
Both 4” x 8” and 8” x 8” Stones are limited to 13 characters or less, including spaces.

The Special 12″ x 12″ Paving Stone
After we initiated the Paving Stone program, some community organizations and other donors suggested that we develop a larger paving stone, with more room to say thanks. We offer a 12″ x 12″ Paving Stone that has 15 characters per line, with six lines on each stone, to all who make minimum gift of $1,500 to our injured service members and their families.
