Wellness Program

Catastrophic war injuries often require years of recovery and during this process, both service members and their families suffer physically and mentally as they cope with the daily life. In 2014, Yellow Ribbon Fund created the Wellness Program and tasked Director Nicole Mendoza, a licensed social worker, to assist post-9/11 wounded, ill, and injured service members in handling the complex issues they face as they return and adapt to civilian life. She empowers them to find short- and long-term solutions to financial, emotional, legal and family challenges. Financial problems and post-traumatic stress are the top two issues facing those in need.
