The Yellow Ribbon Fund's Duty + Devotion aims to provide a special evening for wounded, ill, and injured service members and their compassionate caregivers, not only as a "Date Night" but also an opportunity to raise awareness for The Yellow Ribbon Fund's programs and services.

The Yellow Ribbon will offer 100 tickets, which includes 40 tickets reserved for service members and caregivers from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD.

Please consider sponsoring a service member and their caregiver to attend.

Duty+ Devotion 2019 Keynote Speaker

 

Karen Kelly

As the wife of General John F. Kelly and a Gold Star Parent, Karen Kelly knows both the joys, challenges, and sometimes heartbreaks that military families face. She will share some of the insights and her husband of over forty years have learned from their strong bond with the U.S. military. Gen. Kelly's military career spanned decades as he served in the Persian Gulf War and the Iraq War, and was the Commander of the United States Southern Command under President Obama, He also served as White House Chief of Staff in the Trump Administration. Gen. and Mrs. Kelly raised three children together and both their sons served in the military.  In 2010, their 29 year-old son, 1Lt. Robert M. Kelly, was killed while on patrol in Sangin, Afghanistan. Mrs. Kelly created a scholarship in Robert's memory through the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation and has worked tirelessly on bahalf of military families.

                                                                                   Johnathan Elias 

Jonathan Elias is an award-winning journalist who has been rocognized both nationally and locally for covering and reporting stories. Elia anchors ABC7News for the D.C. area at 4,6, and 11pm and at 10pm on WJLA 24/7. He also heads up the 7Salutes segment which honors the men and women who have served in the military. 

Prior to joining ABC7/WJLA-TV, Elias ws primary anchor and a lead reporter at WBZ in Boston. On the day of teh Boston Marathon Bombings, he was the only reporter standing on the finish line and his coverage earned him a DuPont, a Peabody and a National Emmy Award.
