Captain Jimmy Dudley, USA, (Ret.) is the Yellow Ribbon Fund’s first ever Director of Outreach. Shot while on patrol in Afghanistan in 2011, Jimmy came to Walter Reed for life-saving care. While he was in intensive care, his wife Caitlyn, who was pregnant with their first child, stayed in a nearby hotel courtesy of the Yellow Ribbon Fund. When Jimmy retired from the Army he volunteered with the Yellow Ribbon Fund's Ambassador Program. Brought on to launch our new Outreach Program at Walter Reed Hospital and Fort Belvoir Hospital, Jimmy brings his first-hand experience as a wounded veteran to help service members move on from their injuries and pursue meaningful, healthy and fun lives. Having gone through a long hospital stay and multiple surgeries, Jimmy understands how difficult the road to recovery can be for both the patient and the patient's family. He can help service members navigate the medical evaluation board process. He can partner with service members to develop a plan to for after the military, or as he loves to say "Let's build the life you want live?"
